Product description

Precise reference marks for laser scanners, 3D scanning & industrial surveying

These standard 3 mm diameter adhesive points are among the most widely used reference marks in professional laser scanning , photogrammetry , 3D scanning , industrial surveying and reverse engineering .
Thanks to their highly reflective, retroreflective surface, the dots are reliably detected even by high-resolution laser scanners – even on dark, glossy or complexly shaped surfaces.

The self-adhesive backing allows the markers to be applied quickly, securely and without residue to almost any material: metal, plastic, paint, carbon, fiberglass reinforced plastics, ceramic or matte surfaces.

These 3mm adhesive points are the ideal choice when the highest precision is required for detailed measurements, contours, smaller components and tight geometries.

Product features at a glance

Diameter 3 mm

Optimal size for fine structures, tight radii, precise detail measurements and small components.

Retroreflective surface

Ensures maximum scan stability and allows detection even from difficult angles.
Improves measurement quality, point cloud quality, and scanner tracking capability.

Self-adhesive & residue-free

Perfect for all surfaces, completely removable without leaving any adhesive residue.
Ideal for repeated measurements or series recordings.

Compatible with all laser scanners

Among other things:

  • FARO

  • Artec

  • ZEISS

  • CREAFORM

  • Leica

  • Scantech

  • Revopoint

  • Shining3D

  • hexagon

  • as well as all systems with retroreflective dot marker detection

Bulk pack of 10,000 pieces

Ideal for large-area measurement fields, regular orders, series production and professional measurement teams.

What are the 3 mm reference points particularly suitable for?

The adhesive points were specifically designed for professional surveying tasks, including:

1. 3D scanning of small components

Perfect for components up to approximately 300–800 mm in size, where precision is crucial.

2. Contour capture & detailed geometries

Suitable for tight radii, small edges and delicate components.

3. Reverse Engineering

Improved accuracy in CAD reconstruction and surface reconstruction.

4. Quality control & measurement technology

For target/actual comparisons, test reports and metric evaluations.

5. Photogrammetry

Increases tracking reliability and pixel alignment.

6. Automotive & Classic Cars

Ideal for engine compartment, interior measurement, visible parts, body components.

7. Mechanical Engineering & Plant Engineering

For assemblies, fixtures, molds, welded structures and housing parts.

Advantages over other markers

Why users in professional environments specifically target these adhesive points:

• Maximum precision

Perfect for high-resolution scans and detailed analyses.

• Ideal for small objects

3 mm is particularly well suited for delicate structures and confined spaces.

• High scan detection

Retroreflection ensures clear contrasts and stable tracking.

• Clean work

Easy to apply, removable without leaving residue.

• Large quantity

Ideal for companies with high consumption or recurring projects.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How many adhesion points are needed for a 3D scan?

Typically, 150–600 pieces are required per component, depending on size and complexity. Significantly more may be needed for series production and assemblies.

Are 3 mm or 6 mm better?

3 mm is ideal for small components and detailed areas.
6 mm is suitable for large objects, higher scan distances or coarse geometries.

Do the markers also adhere to plastic or painted surfaces?

Yes, the dots adhere to almost all smooth surfaces – including plastic, carbon, paint, metal and fiberglass.

Can the adhesive points be reused?

For optimal measurement accuracy, single use is recommended.

Are they compatible with my scanner?

Yes, retroreflective markings are supported by all well-known manufacturers.

Summary: Why these adhesive points are the best choice

  • Highest recognition rate in 3D scans

  • Ideal for detailed, small or complex components

  • large quantities for professional workflows

  • Compatible with all measurement systems

  • clean and fast work

  • Optimized for industry, automotive, research and measurement technology
